What This Program Is
The SIEN Youth Leadership Program introduces students to leadership through research, teamwork, and real community impact. Students learn how to identify meaningful problems, design solutions, and execute as a team, not just talk about ideas.
This program emphasizes thinking clearly, working collaboratively, and taking responsibility.
Program Structure
8-Week Workshop + 3-Month Implementation Cycle
Phase 1: Foundations (Weeks 1–2)
Global Context & Research
- • Introduction to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
- • How global issues show up at the local community level
- • Research methods, asking the right questions, validating problems
Phase 2: Problem Identification (Weeks 3–4)
Local Impact Focus
- • Identify a real issue in the student's local community
- • Narrow scope to a clear, solvable problem
- • Learn how to distinguish symptoms from root causes
Phase 3: Solution Design (Weeks 5–6)
Framework & Planning
- • Build a structured framework for a solution
- • Delegate roles and responsibilities
- • Prepare for implementation and presentation
Implementation Phase (3 Months)
Students execute their solutions with ongoing support and check-ins from SIEN mentors.

Why SIEN
SIEN programs are designed to go beyond surface-level leadership training. Students learn how to think, how to work with others, and how to turn ideas into action.
